Dear Mr. Weibold,
the tyre and recycling industry is undergoing major transformation. While the German Rubber Industry Association (wdk) called for urgent industrial policy relief measures during the “Day of the Rubber Industry 2026”, new digital and circular approaches are simultaneously opening up significant opportunities for sustainable value creation.
In this newsletter, we explain why the Digital Product Passport (DPP) could become a key driver for the tyre circular economy in Europe and why the results of an international industry survey on the future of retreading are attracting considerable attention.
We also report on the strong response to the LOOP THE TYRE 2026 startup competition, the successful AZuR partner networking event with Siemens AG, and the upcoming AZuR Tyre Recycling NRW roundtable on sustainable and innovative tyre solutions for fleets.
